On the evening of Tuesday 28th September 2021, we held our first auction of the autumn at The View in Wootton Wawen, on what turned out to be the wettest day for about three months!
Nevertheless, the room was well attended, even though there were only three lots being offered (2.79 Acres Off Blind Line in Tanworth-in-Arden was sold prior for a substantial sum).
The running order for the night was as follows:
Lot 1 – Garage ‘Number 4’ at Spencer Court, Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire, CV37 9AL
The first lot offered was a single garage within easy walking distance of Stratford-upon-Avon town centre. It had a realistic price guide of £11,000, there was a great deal of interest and in the room, the gavel came down at £18,250.
Lot 2 – Nuthurst Chapel, Poundhouse Lane, Hockley Heath, Solihull, B94 5DD
The second lot was the part-renovated Chapel set within Obelisk Farm in Hockley Heath. The bidding started at £140,000 and sold for £180,000.
Lot 3 – 1 Acre Fronting Henwood Lane, Catherine-De-Barnes, Solihull, B91 2SY
The third and final lot of the night was the 1 acre site of woodland fronting Henwood Lane in Catherine-De-Barnes and backed onto the River Blythe. The guide price was £18,000 and bidding started at just £10,000, but after an impressive 57 bids, from all parts of the room, it ended up making £55,000 which was an amazing result! However, the auctioneer said that he was not surprised because of what it was and its closeness to the urban fringe of Solihull.
Our next collective land and property auction is scheduled for Tuesday 26th October 2021 and we currently have eight lots in this auction, ranging from 0.25 acres of amenity land in Alcester to a 45 acre farm near Alvechurch.
